Culture Night

In December, we had a culture night. Institute students who have spent time living in foreign countries gave presentations, and we had food from a few different cultures (not all of it is pictured). It was a great evening for learning, laughter, and friends.

Tuckahoe YSA Conference

For Halloween weekend, some of our members (and an investigator or two) went to the Tuckahoe YSA Conference. These pictures are stolen with gratitude from Jescha, Patrick, and Cierra.

Sidenote... Hayden, Sam, and Anthony had the best costumes ever. Just sayin'.

Kirtland Trip

In October, the institute took an overnight trip to Kirtland, Ohio, which is a historic site for our religion. Kirtland was the headquarters of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1831 until 1838. The temple in Kirtland, though not currently in operation as it is owned by the Community of Christ, was the first temple built by the Church.

DC Temple Trip

The last weekend in September, the student ward took a trip to the Washington DC LDS temple in Kensington, Maryland. Along with our bishop and the senior couple serving a mission in Morgantown, about fifteen members attended. When we were done at the temple, we had dinner at Cafe Rio in DC before driving back to Morgantown.

WVU Homecoming Parade

A few members of LDSSA marched in the university's homecoming parade. We handed out candy wrapped in pass-along cards (and we only ate a little bit of the candy ourselves). :)

Festival of Colors

In September, members and friends of the Morgantown University Ward went to the Festival of Colors at the Palace of Gold in Moundsville, West Virginia. To learn more about the Festival of Colors, visit the New Vrindaban in West Virginia website here.
