Alternative Fireside

Last Sunday we had planned to have a fireside where converts to the church would tell our conversion stories. Due to weather, the bishop had to cancel it, but those of us who spend 80% of our waking hours at the institute anyway decided we still wanted a spiritual boost. The missionaries invited a few investigators and recent converts, and we all got together to sit and talk about our stories in an informal setting. It was an awesome time in the midst of a snow storm, but don't worry if you missed it...

The "Finding Light and Truth" Fireside has been rescheduled for Sunday, March 16, at 7 PM.

Missionary Booth

Yesterday the WVU LDSSA had a missionary booth at the free speech circle. They gave out free hot chocolate and 40 copies of The Book of Mormon to fellow WVU students. We're going to have a booth every month this semester, so we hope everyone can find time to attend at least one of them.

New Years Party

This week, the LDS missionaries serving in Morgantown worked together with the Chinese Student Association to have a joint New Years Celebration at the institute building. We played pool, ping pong, and board games, ate pizza and cookies, and learned about both American and Chinese New Years' traditions. The missionaries also gave a brief presentation on the Church's humanitarian work and its relationship with China.
