Final (Official) Friday Forum

Today was our final Friday forum of the semester. We will be meeting at 12:30 next Friday to hang out, eat pizza, and celebrate the end of finals week, but we won't be having a speaker since most of our students will be gone. For this week, President Waldron (the CES director) led a game of General Conference and Institute Jeopardy.

"Stop reading the answers over my shoulder, Sam."

Best team names ever.

Prince's Baptism

Prince was baptized on April 18, 2014. Several members of our ward have met him before, but we never talked to him about the gospel. Then the missionaries found him, and Prince found his home. We're so glad that Prince found his faith and our ward family gained another member. Congratulations, Prince!

Unofficial Temple Trips

Every month, two of the members of institute council (the current president and the most recent former president) schedule a baptistry session for students at WVU and other young adults in the area. The institute can't sponsor official temple trips, but this is one of the many activities our students hold in addition to institute activities. Here are a few pictures from our recent trips. :)

So, the story behind this picture - the car broke down during our trip in September, and we were stranded in a parking lot for a few hours, so we camped out in the car.

Jackson's Mill YSA Conference

This year's YSA Conference at Jackson's Mill was April 11th - 13th. For three days, young single adults from West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Maryland got together to meet new friends, learn from fantastic speakers including a bishop, a stake president, and an area 70, and enjoy a fun weekend in the middle of nowhere. ;)

Tara's Baptism

Tara was baptized on April 4, 2014. Her baptism was held in Sissonville, where her boyfriend's family lives, but our sister missionaries and a few members of our ward were able to travel down to attend the baptism. Tara is a fun, energetic young lady, and we've been so blessed to have her attending institute here during her semester at WVU. She and Jayme will be married this summer, so she won't be returning to WVU in the fall, but we hope that we'll still get to see her sometimes. Congratulations, Tara!
