Today -- oh man, I'm really getting better at this blogging thing -- we had a cookout for no reason other than that we had some extra food sitting around the institute and Brad, our fearless leader, is going on vacation and wanted to have fun before he left. (FYI, Brad, that's what you're supposed to do while you're gone, too.) Sister Clemmer spent the day baking cookies, Elder Clemmer and I spent the day sampling cookies, the missionaries learned how to use the grill, and lots of awesome people showed up for food and friendship.
When Elder Blakley set the spatula on fire while trying to light the grill, Elder Hadfield's optimistic response was "We'll light metal on fire with the power of God and a bottle of the priesthood!" Welcome to Morgantown, Elder Hadfield. I think he's going to fit in here.
This is a picture I like to call "how many missionaries does it take to light a grill."
We have sisters! They might be a little bit overwhelmed by the enthusiasm of the welcome they've gotten, but we're super happy to have them in our ward!
Fashionably late, right, Brad?
Success at last!
Ex-Bishop Chapman came! Disclaimer: I love Bishop Delawder. That said, it was AWESOME to see Brother Chapman again.
Jon thought so, too.
So did the other Jon.
I worked hard for this picture.
Prez shows the boys how it's done.
The invitations to this event included promises of a game of Frisbee, but it rained, so the game moved inside. They didn't even break anything (although there were a few civilian casualties).
